I look forward to all the Pikachu Facing that’s imminent as the US finally has to face the consequences of settler-colonialism, Imperialism, war crimes, and putting all Terran life under threat, having already sacrificed so many to the US/NATO blood machine, fueled by the averice of the Capitalist Ruling Class.
Don’t be surprised if China and the BRICS nations – who, ICYMI, represent a global majority (55% of global population)– sanction and blockade the US (4% global population), as it has done, and continues to do, to 1/3 of Earth’s global population.
The hubris of US Exceptionalist culture is incompatible with reality, and it didn’t just start with Trump. I’m currently writing a book about my parallel experiences in breaking free from the JW doomsday cult I was raised in, and decolonizing my understanding of existence while fighting American Fascism.
If more Americans joined in truth and reconciliation work, we can also start building toward an alternative system more compatible with China/BRICS and one that’s run by the working class, not corporations, who must be brought to heel. So long as we consent to their rule, they’re going to keep us on the path of barbarism.
The rest of the world has had it with the US, NATO, and the so called Western nations. Don’t expect favored status moving forward. The rest of the planet doesn’t fear the US like it used to, and the odds are in their favor. Thankfully, they’re not predatory-minded, like Settler-Colonialists. BRICS and other organizations are nations seeking fair, cooperative, peaceful relations with one another, with common prosperity a goal. That’s what we should focus on building in our own communities in the US, to help us survive the Fascist regime, and to help us restore our humanity with one another.
We all need to become acquainted with at least some of the major historical frauds we’ve been taught, then try to identify any repeating patterns, contradictions, and relationships we see. I’ve written about some of it here, and early on, I used to record podcast essays, which are linked on the oldest several blog posts.
I’m in the process of getting the Reading Recommendations page updated, after several years of neglect. I migrated to a new plugin over the weekend and got the existing book listings moved. I’ve added a few of the books I’ve read since the last update of that page, with many more to come.
I’ve been expecting the collapse of the US Empire since the late 1990s. The 2007-8 Capitalism crash sent me into a self-sufficient homesteading Libertarian phase. Realizing I couldn’t be Libertarian, after spending time in their online spaces, and seeing the rise of Gamergate (along with knowing people targeted by it), I begrudgingly looked back to the Democrats, specifically, the “Progressives” of the party. I wanted President Bernie Sanders in 2016.
By late 2018, I was back looking outside the Duopoly, but like most Americans, I didn’t look favorably at Socialist or Communist Parties, even though their platforms tended to represent my political values. “But what about [Anti-Communist Trope]?”
Something lit up in my memories, and I realized that I was treating Marxist information the same way as I used to treat “worldly,” and especially “apostate” information, when I was still a loyal JW cultist. I was horrified to realize that I’d allowed myself to be manipulated again.
To be fair, I did grow up in the Cold War, and was being primed – at school, and at the Kingdumb Hall – to shut down my “independent thinking,” not questioning what they were teaching me, even if it didn’t make sense, felt wrong, or didn’t align with my own experiences.
In both spaces, critics of the governing system were portrayed as barbaric, bloodthirsty, and cruel, and we wouldn’t want to risk having their undue influence on us, lest we do something disloyal! In neither case is there ever a good answer to: “If your system is the best of all, why would you worry about anyone investigating the criticisms of it being persuaded away from it by inferior or fraudulent alternatives?”
The US treats Marxism the way that Jehovah’s Witnesses treat apostates. Both desire to discredit their critics, to prevent the ruled majority from ousting or abandoning the ruling minority – along with the system designed to protect their power.
So that’s a taste of things to come in the book; I’m about 9000 words in.
Time to attempt sleep.
